Well, here I am.
This is me starting a blog - who knew I would leap from just lurking to putting my stuff out there. "Out there" is a pretty intimidating place. There are some beautiful blogs, some clever writers, some excellent photographers, and some superb knitters. All I can say is that it gives me something to aspire to and that is not a bad thing.
One thing I have learned from all my lurking is that next year I will definitely not chicken out and NOT sign up for Sockapalooza. I am really jealous seeing all those beautiful socks winging their way around the world, and the other thing I have learned is that a knitting blog is boring without pictures. . . So here is a FO from this year.
Model: Swirly Hair Girl (my daughter) - age 3 - I mean really, isn't she cute?
This cardigan was completed in the fall and is:
Pattern: Samantha, Kate Gilbert http://www.kategilbert.com/
Yarn: Peter Pan (??) don't really remember, just know that it is acrylic which was okay - wanted something that I could wash lots and wash hard - the colour was too light to have fancy wool! I also wanted a light colour to show the stitch details.
Lessons learned: Heed the words of the Yarn Harlot and don't knit for 3 year olds. This sweater has yet to be taken out of the drawer.
If I want to get this post out of "Draft" and out there - all for now. Other projects to blog about at a later date ...
1. Cabled Tunic with Shawl Collar (Debbie Bliss) - love it, made for the 5 year old daughter who will NOT wear wool - ugh!! Never knit for 3 year olds OR 5 year olds!!
2.Cable Sweater with Pocket (Debbie Bliss)
3. Madli's Shawl (Nancy Bush)
4. Veste Evereste (Veronique Avery)
Will do a better job of keeping the details now that I'm recording this!
